When, in 1922, he is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, the count is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. A Gentleman in Moscow is the best book in this series, although it can most definitely be read as a stand alone. A Gentleman in Moscow brings us story to tell everyone.

It was hard to get past how the girls were treated in this book. Disrespected, slut-shamed. If you can manage to overcome that, good luck trying to get past the cheese-fest that was this book A Gentleman in Moscow.
I tried. I really did. I'll give it another year or two (since that's how long it's been since I've read a book by this author).
